On June 30, 2021, 3PL Central is discontinuing our support for HTTP to enhance our system security. As part of this effort, you are required to ensure your scanning devices use HTTPS if you are using our classic mobile scanning solution (not SmartScan). This article reviews how to update your classic mobile scanning devices to comply with our security standards.
If your warehouse utilizes SmartScan and not our classic mobile scanning solution, this information is not relevant to you and no action is required for updating your devices.
To prevent service disruptions, you must update your devices to utilize HTTPS before June 30, 2021. If you have any questions that are not answered in this article, please reference our Security Initiative FAQs.
Now is a good time to upgrade to SmartScan so you can start using modern hardware and software. If your operations are not dependent on classic mobile's load out or printing functionalities, you should be ready to upgrade—contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to learn more, or reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your operations require you to use our classic mobile application, please contact the party responsible for configuring your devices. If you are unsure who that is, you can work with our recommended hardware provider Emkat by reaching out to email@example.com. They will let you know whether your scanning devices are compatible with HTTPS and what is required to configure your devices so that they comply with our security standards.
If your scanning devices are not compatible with HTTPS, please fill out this survey at your earliest convenience to share what's preventing you from transitioning to SmartScan.
