If you receive feedback that your customers are not receiving Customer Notifies and it appears that it is a result of blocking or spamming, this is likely caused by detached security settings coming from both parties. We recommend contacting 3PL Central Support to determine if this is the case.
If it is determined that you are affected by this, you can authorize 3PL Central to send messages on your behalf by entering the correct Sender Policy Framework (SPF) text record into your Domain Name System (DNS) record. To do this, you must have admin capabilities over your domain name. If you do not own your own domain, you can read about registering your own domain and possible options here.
This article reviews how to update your DNS record and update the domains in 3PL Warehouse Manager.
Please note that this solution is necessary for both you and your customers’ domains.
Step 1: Enter the SPF value for your domain
Once it is confirmed that that you have admin capabilities over your DNS, add the following SPF or TXT value to your DNS record to authorize emails through 3PL Warehouse Manager:
v=spf1 a:bkg.3plcentral.com ~all
Below is an example of what the DNS record looks like in GoDaddy.
To find out more about editing DNS records, a quick Google search on “how to add an SPF record for [your specific domain registrar provider]” should suffice. The websites below link to instructions on how to update the SPF record for several popular domain registrars:
- GoDaddy
- G Suite – (note that the free Google domain does not allow you to have admin capabilities)
- Hostway
- HostGator
- Domain.com
The next step is to update your domains in 3PL Warehouse Manager.
Step 2: Update the domains in 3PL Warehouse Managers
3PL Warehouse Manager pulls your email domains from two locations within the system, in which you must enter one valid email:
- The Customer Notifies feature for each customer within Customers > Customer Notifies
- The main point of contact within Warehouse > Manage Warehouse
If you have updated domains in one or both of these places and you are still not receiving notifications, please contact 3PL Central Support to troubleshoot further.
